Dear Fellow Golfers,
I want to take this opportunity to THANK YOU for your loyal support. We experienced a very successful golf season despite a very slow economy. The number of memberships is again on the rise after several years of decline. This tells us that you recognize the value of membership at our beautiful course. Do your friends a favor and spread the word! We are continuing our tee and fairway reseeding programs with heartier varieties. The reseeded areas are looking better all the time. We have completed extensive bunker renovations and converted to beautiful white sand. Plans for a driving range are being finalized this fall, construction to start in the spring. Be assured, we will continue to make improvements to the golf course and the equipment. I hope you are as proud of Wabash Valley as I am!
We now have a very fun Tuesday morning senior league and Tuesday evening open league. We are also planning more club events and will continue the Match Play Club Championship to take place throughout the summer. In order to compete in this you must have a USGA handicap. We will provide this to you as part of your regular membership, you will just need to turn in your 18 hole scores.
The costs of maintaining a good golf course are skyrocketing; as a result, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep golf prices affordable. Together, with your continued support, and the dedication (and funding) of our ownership, we are doing our best to hold the line. Make sure to take advantage of our early bird date of Jan. 10 to save money. I think you will agree WVGC offers the best golfing experience in the area.
Sincerely,
Rod Ashman Director of Golf |
